The award was particularly in recognition of his pioneering role in the development of internet in Africa as well as his continuous leadership of the cyber community in Ghana. He was inducted into the Internet Hall of Fame in August 2013.
In his keynote address, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, Minister of Communications acknowledged the efforts of e-Crime Bureau in the fight against cybercrime & cyber security challenges affecting the development of information communication technology in Ghana.
He mentioned that Ghana needed the support and collaboration from government and international development partners in cyber security as the country reaches middle income status.

He emphasized that government institutions, organizations and businesses should see security of their ICT infrastructure as an integral part of their overall strategic development goals.
The nine-member board was sworn in by Sir Justice Dennis Agyei of the Appeal Court of Ghana.
The board is chaired by Mr. D.K. Mensah, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Association of Bankers.
The members are COP Prosper Kwame Agblor, Director General, Criminal Investigation Department; Dr. Adu Anane Antwi, Director-General, Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC); Mr. Albert Antwi-Boasiako, Founder & Principal Consultant/Director, e-Crime Bureau; Col. (Dr) Emmanuel Kotia, Military Officer/Security Expert, KAIPTC/GAFCSC; Lt. Col. Larry Gbevlo-Lartey Esq., Lawyer and Former National Security Coordinator; Dr. Suzanne Nti, Former Deputy Director, Judicial Training Institute; Mr. Sam Aning, Academic and Mr. Kwame Antwi-Boasiako, Finance Director, Central University.
Since its establishment in 2011, e-Crime Bureau has emerged as a sub-regional industry leader with experience across Africa and beyond.
Apart from cyber security and digital forensics services, e-Crime Bureau has also collaborated and supported organizations and stakeholders in the area of financial crime management, investigations support, anti-money laundering, cash handling, forensic audit, and documents counterfeit detection among others.
